“A healthy attitude is contagious but don’t wait to catch it from others. Be a carrier.” -Tom Stoppard
Hi, my name’s Gi and welcome to my health blog, The Daily Jog. I’m here to carry health information to you and to be a healthy attitude that rubs off on your life. When it comes to health, I’m just like you… I’m no health expert. I’m not a doctor, nutritionist, trainer, or even an athlete. All I am is an average woman in her 20-somethings attempting to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Just like anybody else, I’ve worried about staying in shape and eating right, but still can’t fit in my jeans from last year. I’ve tried every face wash from ProActive to Neutrogena, and still get disgusting zits. And I’ve been there… I’ve struggled with depression in the past.
From deciding brown rice over white rice or waking up an hour earlier to go to the gym, something about health pops up in my mind everyday. But how healthy am I really being? Are my choices the correct ones? I really don’t know!
So why do I have a health blog when I know nothing about health?
Everyday I’m curious whether what I’m eating is good for me… I’m curious if this workout works better than that one… I wonder why I still get pimples… I wish I could be thinner… the list goes on! I have questions in my head that go unanswered everyday and I want to be healthy and I want to learn how. I may not have a degree in biology but I am a journalist and as journalists, we become mini experts in topics we choose to explore. I want to use my journalism skills to discover everything I need to know about health that will benefit my life and my overall physical and mental wellness. This blog is a documentation of my journey discovering what it really means to be “healthy” and by sharing my own health expierences, curiosities, knowledge, and interviews with experts, my goal is to answer your unanswered questions about health and to help motivate you to start being healthy too… the right way.
So like I said…I’m just like you. Clueless. But we don’t have to be.
